President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has departed for the Maldives on a state visit, which will continue until the 30th of this month.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu. During the visit, the two leaders are expected to engage in bilateral discussions aimed at deepening cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are also scheduled to be exchanged to further strengthen ties in areas of mutual interest.
