GovPay, Sri Lanka’s secure online platform for digital government payments, has processed transactions exceeding Rs. 750 million, marking a significant step in the nation’s digital transformation journey.

As of today, a total of 38,378 transactions amounting to Rs. 760,834,489 have been completed through GovPay, covering payments to 184 government institutions.

The platform enables citizens and businesses to conveniently settle taxes, fines, utility bills, education fees, and other service charges using banks and digital wallets.

GovPay is spearheaded by LankaPay—the national payment network—under the supervision of the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Operated under the Ministry of Digital Economy, the initiative aims to modernize revenue collection while enhancing transparency, accuracy, and security in government financial transactions.

Launched in February 2025 under the patronage of President and Minister of Digital Economy Anura Kumara Dissanayake, GovPay continues to expand in phases as a key component of Sri Lanka’s broader e-governance and digital economy strategy.
