The President also pointed out the importance of spreading the philosophy of the great Anagarika Dharmapala among the people to build a better society , where the society has declined to a low level to assess the value of a human life in financial terms.

The main national ceremony of the series of programs held to commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala under the theme of ”Let us create a generation which is dedicated to protect the country, language, ethnicity and the Buddhasasana” was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the BMICH , today.

The president paid floral tributes to the statue of the late Anagarika Dharmapala.

Dr. Praneeth Abeysundara, the Chairman of All Ceylon Buddhist Congress delivered the Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala Commemorative Lecture at the event.
