The JVP Parliamentarians voted against the Budget while a significant move was that a majority of Tamil National Alliance MPs voted in favour of the Budget.
The vote on the second reading commenced yesterday around 5.30 p.m. The final vote on the 2016 Budget will be taken up on the 19th of December
