The Prime Minister has also noted that by the year 2030 investors will be vested with the task of creating Sri Lanka’s economic map and that the Sri Lankan Government would be providing all facilities required for the creation of this map.
He has also revealed of plans to establish a Development Agency instead of the Board of Investment and the Economic Development Council thus enabling all investors to meet their services from one centre. The intention of the Government is to create an investment friendly environment with relaxed regulations, he has added.
During this meeting, the investors had lauded the reconstruction programme mooted by the Sri Lankan Government strengthening good governance and had assured to further expand investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Ministers Ravi Karunanayake, Malik Samarawickrema and Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendranwere among those who were present at this Sri Lanka Investment Conference.
