Government of Kazakhstan has extended an invitation to Sri Lanka to participate in “World Expo” 2017 Exhibition.
Addressing the weekly cabinet briefing held at the Government Information Department today (March 17), Minister of Mass Media and Parliament Reforms Gayanatha Karunathilaka said that the “World Expo” exhibition is held once in two years in the prominent capitals of the world under various themes. This year this exhibition will be held under the theme of Future Energy in the city of Astana in Kazakhstan from 10th June to 10th September 2017.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal made by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen to appoint a Commissioner General to organize Sri Lanka’s participation in this Exhibition, and to provide opportunities for Sri Lanka’s small and medium scale producers of horticulture and related products and to make them involved in the Exposition through an acceptable mechanism, Minister added.
