Proposed Right to Information Bill (RTI) is expected to make changes in a moderate way to uphold good governance and the state function, according to Deputy Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Karunarathna Paranawithana.
Addressing a meeting at the Department of Government Information Yesterday (14th June) Minister affirmed the proposed bill will allow the public to get information regarding the public authorities and it will be an important feature for the government to be responsible at a higher level.
He further said that all the government employees should be trained for this task with an attitudinal change in their minds.
The RTI bill will be presented to the Parliament on 23rd June for the second reading.
