A team of journalists from the Northern Province called on the President Maithripala Sirisena and the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (7th July) at the Parliamentary premises. Joining the occasion were Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake, Deputy Minister Karunarathna Paranawithane, Secretary to the Ministry Nimal Bopage, and the Director General of Government Information Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya. According to the Secretary Nimal Bopage, the journalists arrived at Colombo as the second step of the ‘Thalpathai-Panhidai’ reconciliation tour recently participated by the journalists from South. The 54-Nothern journalist team started their tour on 6th July and will conclude tomorrow (9th July). During the meeting; they discussed their difficulties and problem in detail with the President and the Prime Minister. Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake hosted a dinner for the visiting journalists on Wednesday at the Sri Lanka Foundation. They will leave for Jaffna tomorrow after visiting Colombo, Galle, and Kataragama.
