The President made these remarks during a ceremony held to hand over appointment letters to the graduates of Batticaloa district at the Weber Ground in Batticaloa, yesterday (03).
Two hundred graduates and forty diploma holders were offered teaching appointments and symbolizing that president Sirsena handed over appointment letters to twenty one.
The President stated that the government paid attention to make certain changes in the system of education through new policies of education and said that due to the weaknesses in the education system in the country graduates who are a resource to the country have the tendency to engage in rebellions,
President Sirisena said that immediate steps will be taken to appoint graduate teachers in eastern province as well as for the vacant positions in other governmental and provincial institutions.
He said that he would take steps to establish two special presidential task forces to make the duties in development more efficient which were delayed due to long term war in north eastern provinces and expects the cooperation of all the ministers representing all political parties.
He added he would consider in inquiring all the road development projects that are ceased currently.
School equipment were distributed for three schools under the programme for distributing equipment for labs in schools in eastern province by president Srisena.
Governor of the Eastern Province Rohitha Bogollagama, State ministers A.L.M. Hisbullah, Sriyani Wijewickama, Deputy Minister Ameer Ali, Member of Parliament Ali Zahir Moulana, and Chairman of the Eastern Provincial Council Chandradasa Galapaththi, Chief Secretary Sarath Abeygunawardena including other public representatives and government officers and Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara and heads of security forces were present in this event.
After that, president Sirisena who visited Sri Managarama Buddhist temple in Batticaloe asked for the well being of Ven. Ampitiye Sumanarathana Thero.
Then President Srisena visited Sri Mamangam Easwara Temple in Batticaloe and received blessings after participating in religious events.
The Mamangam reservoir near Temple was inspected by the President and the governor was advised to take immediate steps to make the reconstruction of the reservoir.
Finally President Sirisena visiting the residence of the governor planted a plant in that premises.
