The minister pointed out that this conference will be terminated fruitfully to be fulfilled their task with the dedication and commitment. Minister Mangala Samaraweera made this statement at the inaugural make awareness program of the Gamperaliya Development Campaign held at the District Secretariat, Monaragala. The Gamperaliya program will commence on the 22nd of this month and its first development exhibition will be held on the 16th of August in Monaragala. Minister addressed that the ceremony held at the Monaragala District Secretariat.
I am happy to commence this task in the Uva Province in this year, when the two hundred years completed to the revolt of Wellassa. The revolt commemorates to mark it for the 200 years in this year Gamperaliya Development programme is to be launched to develop Monaragala District as required to comport the 21st Century.
As proposed by the budget -2018, All actions for Enterprises Sri Lanka are currently in the process . It is happened under this island is to become a paradise of Entrepreneurs as it was in the ancient times. We have the necessary genetic ability. By the year 2020,the intention of the government is to create 100,000 entrepreneurs at the rural level. The "Gamperaliya" Exhibition will be held to make aware the public on this and to make aware the rural community about the development program in 2025.
I am happy to select Moneragala District as the Initial Step. While whole of poverty in Sri Lanka is 6.4% and the level of poverty in Moneragala district is 20.8%. moreover, this is the best place to commence this programme that it is my opinion . 200 million will be allocated for each and every divisional secretary division for the development work in the district. Accordingly, Rupees 2.2 billion has been allocated for 11 Divisional Secretary Divisions in the Moneragala District.
Renovation of sacred places, electricity supply, construction of green park, renovation of tanks and school are being carried out under this programme. It is scheduled to provide funds directly to the divisional secretaries through District secretaries
The Commanders of forces have agreed to give maximum support to the security forces. The ending of the peace epoch, they will be able to contribute to the development process accordingly.
In accordance with the statistics of the district, we knew it a few moments ago that there were 25,000 houses lack of toilet facilities Therefore, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media, Dr. R .H.S. Samarathunga said that Rupees 500 million could be granted to construct toilets. Accordingly, The Minister requested from all respective officers ,at the time of the exhibition in August, sanitary facilities should be provided to all of the people in the district .

After the ceremony , Minister including the gathering joined to visit the Sri Pana Archaeological Reserve and the Galabedda Biso Pond and the premises where the exhibition to be held.
