The exhibition will be declared open by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at 4.00 pm on Today (29). This exhibition will be open for the general public from 10.00 am to 12.00 midnight from 29th to 31st of August.
At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Prime Minister will distribute land deeds to 800 families from the Monaragala district.
The district of Monaragala will undergo a series of development projects to be initiated under the Gamperaliya rapid rural development programme to coincide with this exhibition. Furthermore, Three Green Parks will be established in the three electorates of the district.
The Groundbreaking ceremony for the Green Parks in Monaragala, Wellawaya and Bibila electorates will take place Today(29). The Monaragala District Government Agent Mrs. Padma Kulasuriya said that each Green Park will consist of a meditation centre, gymnasium, jogging path and a library.
In addition to that, several rural and provincial roads will also be developed and all schools in the district without access to proper sanitation facilities will be provided such facilities. School grounds as well as public playgrounds have also been earmarked to be developed via the Gamperaliya programme to promote sports among our school children.
