1. Providing Fire Fighting equipments/ Vehicles for Colombo Municipal Council (Document No. 08 )
Proponent :- Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs
Description :- It has been proposed to supply firefighting equipments and vehicles in order to enhance the capacity of Fire Brigade Unit in Municipal Council Colombo. The proposal of Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe to discuss with Unicredit Bank in Austriya and enter in to an agreement to obtain a interest free loan of Euro 10.5 million in this purpose, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
2. Funding for the supply of Medical equipments to Medical Faculties in Rajarata and Eastern Universities and Faculty of Allied Health Science in Peradeniya University. (Document No .09)
Proponent: Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Description :- The proposal of Hon. Prime Minister to enter into an agreement with Unicredit Bank in Austriya to obtain a Loan of Euro 4.5 million to cover the cost of funding above project was approved by the cabinet of ministers.
3. Funding for the implementation of Project to strengthen Primary Health Care System (Document No.10)
Proponent :- Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Description :- Cabinet of Ministers has approved a project for strengthening Primary Health Care System in the country. The proposal of Hon. Prime Minister to enter in to a financial agreement with World Bank affiliated International Bank of Reconstruction and Development, to obtain a loan of US$ 200 million in this purpose, was approved by the cabinet of Ministers.
4. Construction of 300 houses around Madu Church at Mannar. (Document No.11)
Proponent :- Hon. John Amaratunge, Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs
Description :- It has been proposed to build 300 houses around Madu Church at Mannar for the use of devotees and tourists. Government of India has agreed to provide Rs. 300 million financial Support to implement this project. Accordingly the proposal submitted by Hon. Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs for a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India was approved by the cabinet of Ministers.
5. Establishment of Amaradewa Centre for Aesthetics and Research (Document No.14)
Proponent :- Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Finance and Mass Media
Description :- Cabinet of Ministers has granted their approval to establish an institution named Amaradewa Centre for Aesthetics and Research by Parliamentary Act. Accordingly Legal Draftsman has prepared the bill of Amaradewa Centre for Aesthetics and Research. The proposal of Hon. Mangala Samaraweera to gazette this bill and subsequently submit it to the parliamentary approval was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
6. Appointing new members for the Committee to prevent money laundering and Terrorism Financing (Document No.16)

Description :- Since the number of financial crimes have been increased with the expansion of technology, better coordination among Government institutions is essential to face this situation successfully. Accordingly the proposal submitted by the Minister of Finance and Mass Media to widen the composition of National Coordinating Committee for Preventing Money Laundering and Terrorism Funding was approved by the cabinet of Ministers. Commissioner General of the Department of Inland Revenue, Commissioner General of the Department of Exercise, Director General of Bribery Commission and representatives of Ministry of Defence and Ministry of National Policies and Economic affairs, will be appointed as members of the committee in this purpose.
7. Loans under Concessionary Interest rate for the damages of business properties caused by the conflicts in Kandy District (Document No.18)

Description :- Cabinet of Ministers has granted its approval for Athwela Loan Scheme on 20.03.2018. The Maximum Loan amount of this Loan scheme is Rs. 500,000/-. It has been observed that this amount is insufficient for the damages occurred. Accordingly the proposal of Hon. Laxman Kiriella to increase the maximum amount of loan up to one million upon 2% concessionary interest rate, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
8. Enhancing Health Facilities in Estate Sector (Document No.24)
Proponent :- (Dr.) Rajitha Senarathne, Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine
Description :- It has been proposed to develop estate dispensaries to enhance the health condition of estate workers. Accordingly, Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal of Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to combine the Estate Health System with Government Health System and subsequently to take over, all the Estate Medical Institutions which are being administrate by Estate Managements.
9. National Survey of identifying Risk Factors for Non Communicable Diseases (Document No.25)
Proponent :- (Dr.) Rajitha Senarathne, Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine
Description :- National Survey of Identifying Risk Factors for Non Communicable Diseases was launched in 2003. The survey is implemented once in 5 years since then. The proposal of Hon. Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to implement this survey all over the country in August 2018 was approved by the cabinet of Ministers. The estimated cost of this survey is Rs. 50 million.
10. Project for the establishment of Aviation and Technical emergency rescue system in Sri Lanka (Document No.26)
Proponent :- (Dr.) Rajitha Senarathne, Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine
Description :- It has been proposed to establish a Emergency Rescue System in Sri Lanka. The estimated cost of the project proposal submitted by Bijorn Steiger Stiftung, non profit organization in Germany, is Rs 190 million. It has been proposed to grant this amount as Long term Concessionary Loan. The Proposal of Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to appoint a Negotiation Committee and a Project Committee to conduct a feasibility study in this regard, was approved by the cabinet of Ministers.
11. Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lanka and Korea regarding teh development in Marine Field (Document No.)

Description :- Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal for a Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lanka and Korea for exchanging technical information with the intention of the development in the field of Navy.
12. Amendment to Intellectual Properties Act No 36 of 2003 in order to introduce exceptions related to Copy Right, facilitating the reproduction and distribution of printed media in support of Print Disabled. (Document No.31)

Description :- Cabinet of Ministers has granted its approval in 2016 to amend the Intellectual Properties Act No 36 of 2003 inserting some exceptions, prior to the ratification of Marrakesh Treaty. Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal to gazette the amendment bill and to submit to the parliament subsequently.
13. Use Soranawaththa Land in Horana for a Middle Class Housing Scheme (Document No.36)

Description :- The proposal to use Soranawaththa Land in Horana for a project of Middle Class Housing Scheme and enhance the related facilities, was approved by the cabinet of Ministers.
14. Project for the Construction of Wind Power Plant in Mannar (Document No. 39)
Proponent :- Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Minister of Power and Renewable Energy
Description :- In accordance with the cabinet approval , initial steps have been taken for teh construction of a 100 MW Wind Power Plant in Mannar island. This project will be funded by the Asian Development Bank. Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal to implement this project with all the other infrastructure facilities.
15. Amendments to the Sri Lanka Bhikku University Act (Document No.41)
Proponent :- Hon. Kabeer Hasheem, former Minister of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs
Description :- It has been proposed to amend the Sri Lanka Bhikku University Act facilitating lay students to follow Post Graduate Degree courses and including some other timely important amendment. The proposal of former Minister Hon. Kabeer Hashim was approved by the cabinet of ministers considering the agreement of present Minister Hon.(Dr.)Wijayadasa Rajapaksha.
16. Hosting the 5th International Conference of the International Association of Theravada Buddhist Universities (Document No.42)

Description :- 5th International Conference of the International Association of Theravada Buddhist Universities has been planned to conduct on November, 27th ,28th and 2 9th of November 2018 at Colombo and Anuradhapura. Accordingly the cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal of (Dr.)Wijayadasa Rajapaksha, Hon . Minister of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs to host this International Conference, which is led by the Sri Lanka Buddhist and Pali Uneversity in partnership with Sri Lanka Bhikku University.
17. Construction of Auditorium for Sri Lanka Social Security Board (Document No.45)
Description :- It has been identified the necessity of an auditorium in order to promote the activities of Sri Lanka Social Security Board. Cabinet of Ministers granted its approval for providing funds to develop upstairs of Social Security Board Head Office Building as an Auditorium.
18. Amendment of the name of National Social Development Institution as Sri lanka Social Services School (Document No.46)
Description :- Most of University Experts and Professionals in Social works have proposed that the name Social Services School in Sri Lanka has more professional recognition than the name National Social Development Institution. Therefore Cabinet of Ministers grant its approval to rename the National Social Development Institution as Social Services School in Sri Lanka.
19. Transfer the Lands owned by the Land Reforms Commission to External Individuals and Institutions on a lease basis (Document No. 52)
Description :- Cabinet of ministers decided to empower the Minister in charge of Land Reforms commission to discard lands in extent of maximum 5 acre in accordance with the provisions of Land Transfer Act. The selection of Beneficiaries should be based on the recommendations of Committee of Senior Officials, subject to an appropriate system to select the correct persons as beneficiaries.
20. Granting State Assistance for 13 Government Unassisted Private Schools. (Document No.59)

Description :- There are 80 Government approved Privet schools in the country. Government provides School Uniforms and Text Books for these Schools. Further 36 schools are being assisted by the government for teachers salaries. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal to consider 13 more non assisted private schools as Government Assisted schools, based on the Criteria of the Ministry of Education.
21. Implementation of Development Programs in Mannar District concurrent to 2018 Miladun Nabi Festival (Document No.60)

24. Construction of Hambanthota 220/132 kv Grid Substation and developing the existing Grid Substation (Document No. 70)

30. Bus fare Revision Concurrent to the increase of fuel prices (Document No.84)
Description :- Bus Owners' Associations have requested to revise the bus fares concurrent to the fuel price increase. The committee which conducts studies for revising bus fares has submitted its recommendation considering the recommendation of National Transport commission and the annual bus fare revisions. Accordingly Cabinet of Ministers granted its approval to increase bus fare by 6.56 % with effect from 16.05.2018. The minimum bus fare is Rs. 10/-.
